NINO’s history goes back to 1897 when the company was founded as Niehues & Dütting. NINO had large spinning, weaving and finishing capacities and by the middle of the 20th century they were already among the leading fabric mills in Europe and the world. Their best known fabric brand was always NINO-Flex poplin for jackets & coats.
Following a management buy-out in 1996 all brands and the company rights were transferred to NINO Vertriebs GmbH, a new company with a new Board of Directors and a much enlarged product range.
Today we produce the majority of our cotton collections where we specialize in cotton stretch fabrics and particularly in very fine PIMA cotton qualities through our partners in Germany.
On the other hand, where the more technical parts of the range including outerwear fabrics as well as certain blends are concerned, we take advantage of our long-established partnerships in the Far East.
It is important to understand that design and all technical and quality matters are under the permanent control of our employees in Nordhorn. Every article, from whatever source, is always tested and inspected under NINO’s various fabric performance guidelines before being sent out to customers throughout the world.
NINO’s current collections are strong in formal sportswear and we are proud to count many of the leading men’s and women’s wear European brands amongst our customers.
